HMC participates in Medhealth Cairo 2013

Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is participating in the 12th annual Congress of the Arab Hospitals Federation (AHF) - Medhealth - being held in Cairo this week with the theme of this year being - "Guide Your Hospital Towards 2020".

Medhealth, one of the most prestigious congresses and exhibitions for the region's healthcare industry, is being held concurrently with the Council of Arab Health Ministers.

The event is organized in cooperation with the Arab League, the Arab Ministries of Health, the World Health Organization and Arab League for Healthcare Quality and brings together local, regional and international experts in the field of health management who will share their expertise with the attendees.

The Congress is being held at the same time as a specialized medical exhibition, which features the latest innovations and technology in various medical fields.

Mr. Mohd Mubarak Al Noimi, Chief of Communication and chief of staff for the Managing Director's Office at HMC said this was the fifth consecutive year that HMC had been invited to participate in the gathering.

"This invitation for HMC to participate in the annual congress of the Arab Hospitals Federation for the fifth year in a row, comes as part of the efforts of AHF - which operates under the umbrella of the Arab League - to make use of HMC's great expertise in the field of providing quality, world-class healthcare services," Mr. Al Noimi said.

"The invitation also reflects AHF's recognition of the achievements of HMC and the pioneering medical and clinical role played by the Corporation in the State of Qatar, as the premier healthcare provider in the country. This is in addition to HMC plans for continuous enhancement of patient care, improvement of healthcare outcomes and commitment to staff development through continuing education and training."

Mr. Ali Abd-alla Al-Khater, the Executive Director of HMC's Corporate Communications Department, said HMC will be showcasing the full spectrum of its healthcare capabilities as well as using the Congress as a forum for exploring collaborations with other healthcare organizations in the region.

"HMC's participation in the AHF Congress and Exhibition is a considerable effort to showcase our pioneering medical and clinical role in Qatar," Mr. Al Khater said.

"It, also, paves the way for the exchange of expertise and knowledge in the field of healthcare marketing, communications as well as being acquainted with the latest developments in this area."

HMC is the first public healthcare system outside of the United States (US) to obtain Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation for all hospitals simultaneously. HMC is also the first healthcare system outside of the US to receive institutional accreditation from the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education - International (ACGME-I).
