HP Middle East appoints new Managing Director for Qatar

HP Middle East has promoted Walid Gomaa to Managing Director of Qatar, effective immediately. In his new role, Gomaa will be looking to grow HP's business in Qatar by helping to build relations with customers and partners and strengthening an already significant presence in the market for HP, taking a strong lead for an important and quickly developing market for HP.

"We welcome Walid to his new position; he has accomplished much with HP already in his areas of expertise, and this knowledge will bring new momentum to our business in Qatar," said Eyad Shihabi Managing Director, HP Middle East.

"The new appointment comes at a time when HP is investing significantly in Qatar and the region, with the Qatari market seen as an area of major growth which Walid is ideal to spearhead."

Gomaa manages the HP Storage Business across the Middle East. Since joining in March 2009, Walid's focus has been to drive HP storage solutions in the market place. Walid is leading a team of sales, pre sales and business development professionals who are executing HP Storage strategy in the region.

Gomaa has more than 25 years of experience in the Middle East IT field, covering a wide range of areas including sales, marketingand product management. Gomaa has also gained experience previously with other high profile IT companies.

Gomaa has a successful track record of sales leadership with key customers in Saudi, Egypt, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman, and UAE, helping customers translate their visions into storage and IT solutions.He earned a bachelor's degree in computer science in 1987 from Ain Shams University.
