Huawei seeks 60 million smartphone shipments in 2012

China-based Huawei Technologies has set global target shipments of 60 million smartphones in 2012, as the firm seeks to become the world's third-largest vendor of smartphones, Digitimes has reported. Huawei shipped 60 million handsets in 2011, of which 20 million units were smartphones, according to the company's corporate media relations vice president Scott Sykes.
