Huub and Adelheid Kortekaas officially launch Dubai's first lifestyle eyewear boutique with its own stylist

Dutch artists Huub and Adelheid Kortekaas officially opened the store and several of their well-known sculptures, including the 3.33 metre Tulip-Seat, were on display for the occasion.

Anna features over 4,000 carefully selected designer frames making it the largest and widest selection of eyeglasses in the UAE. It is also the first lifestyle eyewear boutique in Dubai to have its very own resident eyewear styling service that guides customers towards choices that do not only suit their prescription, but that are flattering and fashionable with the aim to ensure their eyewear is as original as they are.

The opening was a celebration of art and design, bringing together Top Vision Optics' Dutch owner, Anneke Verkaik, Dutch designer Hink Huisman who was responsible for the design and the repositioning of the store, and Dutch artists Huub en Adelheid Kortekaas who, as guests of honour officially opened the boutique. Invited guests including many of Top Vision Optics' loyal customers as well as friends and partners.

Adelheid van Swelm and Huub Kortekaas married in 1969, have collaborated on their art since then, and work as an artistic duo on a wide variety of projects. Throughout their work the 'plant' is a metaphor for the human being, growing from the dark earth towards the light. They call their work Quantum-Art, and structural principles such as numbers receive an important symbolic significance.

The design of the new store has an ultra-modern, yet warm atmosphere that incorporates bright glass and natural wood combined with warm orange and cool turquoise colours, giving the store a distinguished look both in its interiors and street-facing exteriors.

The connection with art for the launch of the brand is no coincidence. Anneke Verkaik, Owner of Anna by Top Vision Optics, said, "I want Anna to be a destination store for unique, cutting edge designer eyewear in the UAE. Eyewear is an important part of people's lifestyle as is art. We see our frames as designer creations and pieces of art, so working with celebrated Dutch artists Huub and Adelheid Kortekaas, was the perfect fit for the opening of the store."
