- PRESS RELEASE
In an attempt to bring even more transparency and governance to charities operating in Dubai and enhance the level of oversight across these charities, the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) of Government of Dubai announced that it has signed an agreement with LINK Development, a leading provider of integrated technology solutions across the Middle East and a subsidiary of Orascom groups OTVentures, to connect all charity associations with IACAD administratively and financially.
The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) of Government of Dubai is an organisation aimed at propagating Islamic culture and developing religious awareness amongst the residents of UAE. The project aims to implement an 'eCharities Administrative and Financial Linking System' through a comprehensive deployment across the emirate of Dubai.
It will allow IACAD to supervise all charity associations and centers operating in the Emirate administratively, financially and culturally.
Commenting on the project, Sameer Khoory, project manager at IACAD, said, "This solution enables us to improve our oversight and communications with all charities across Dubai. It will help increase our auditing efficiency, increase our visibility on business-related activities and will also enhance cross charities workflow and communications."
The new cloud-based solution also offers IACAD the possibility of electronically auditing all the activities of these charities real-time, thus bringing more transparency and efficiency into their systems.
Yehia El-Katib, Regional Manager OTVentures part of the Orascom Group and a holding company of LINK Development, said, "This project is unique; it is a cloud-based centralised solution which will connect all Dubai-based charities to IACAD and provide consistency in their operations. It is designed to help bring greater transparency and oversight to the process of financial and administrative management in these organisations, and offer IACAD and charity organisations an easier and more streamlined process for auditing their financials."
The project will also provide each of the charity organisations operating in the Emirate with a comprehensive system to manage their day-to-day operations, in addition to a website. Through this solution, charity organisations will also be able to request a range of services from IACAD electronically, thus reducing the response time and enhancing work efficiency.
Mohamed Abdul Aziz, UAE Sales Manager at Link Development, said, "LINK Development aims to build an effective and well-engineered platform which will enable IACAD to enhance its auditing abilities and ensure increase of productivity."
