IBM acquires UK storage software vendor

IBM has acquired Butterfly Software, a UK-based storage management vendor. Butterfly sells a range of products that allow businesses to plan, optimise and migrate their back-up and storage resources. "Butterfly offers storage planning software and storage migration tools, helping companies save storage space, operational time, IT budget and power consumption," the IT giant said. "IBM will use Butterfly to help clients find new ways to drive greater value from its storage software and hardware solutions."
