IBQ sponsors Lycée Français Bonaparte football team

The International Bank of Qatar (IBQ) sponsored the 'Oryx' Football Team of the Lycée Français Bonaparte School in Qatar for the second year running. The sponsorship strongly underlines the IBQ's unfaltering commitment to champion such initiatives that help to serve as a platform for developing youth sport talents.

Jabra Ghandour, Managing Director of IBQ, said, "We are proud to support all efforts aiming at providing a platform for our youth to practice sports. This is in line with our keenness on developing a healthier and more mentally and physically qualified generation, as well as fostering a sense of sports ethics since their early childhood."

Mr. Hafid Adnani, Provost of Lycée Français Bonaparte, said, "We're delighted to have IBQ on board once again. Their presence has certainly been a great boost to the future of our team and the activities our students were able to partake in. We cannot thank them enough for their belief in what we are trying to build for our students here at Lycée Français Bonaparte and in the power of sports to bring people together."

Coached by football star Juhninio and comprising more than 100 players, the Doha Oryx Football Club was established in 2010 by Stephane Morello, professor and professional trainer, and Sebastien Pinede, former footballer, together with the school's socio-educational board.

The sponsorship of the Oryx Football Club is another addition to the bank's long track record in boosting a culture of sports practice in Qatar. From the annual Cricket Masters to the HH The Emir Basketball Championship to National Sport Day, IBQ has always been at the forefront of institutions that aim to reach out to its community with worthwhile and responsible sports activities.
