IKCO global sales growing

IKCO produced 66% of its export cars in overseas plants in the first half of this year, 64% more than 2004.

Abdolazim Sadian, IKCO deputy CEO in export and international affairs says that the company is currently running seven production plants in Belarus, Azerbaijan, Syria, Venezuela, Senegal, Egypt and Iraq. Apart from Egypt that makes Peugeot Pars, the other plants produce Samand sedans.

Since 2005, more than 30% of exported Samands have been produced in IKCO's overseas plants.

Annual production capacity is more than 25 thousand units in IKCO plant in Belarus. This amount is six thousand units for Azerbaijan, 30 thousand units for Syria, 16 thousand units for Venezuela and 15 thousand units for Egypt.

IKCO brand Samand forms 46% of the company's global sales portfolio. The company has so far exported 96,114 Samands, 51,647 Peugeot 206 sedans, 27,079 Roas, 10,878 Peugeot 206 hatchbacks, 11,444 units of Peugeot 405 and 9303 units of Peugeot pars to global target markets.

Market development and gaining an appropriate global market share as well as long-term profitability in a competitive atmosphere are some the achievements IKCO has received through global sales.
