Increased tensions in the Mideast weigh on Saudi bourse

Unlike most GCC euqity indices, the Tadawul All-Share Index declined 0.12% to close at 7,205.75 points on Sunday. Market bellwether Sabic lost 0.54% to SR91.25. Earlier in the day, the Syrian government said all options to retaliate were on the table after Israel attacked the capital Damascus for the 2nd time in the night in an apparant attempt to prevent weapons transports to Hizbullah in neighboring Lebanon. The escalation triggered fears of a new regional war that could drag the Middle East into increased instability.
