INDEX, the Middle East and North Africa's largest and longest established interiors and design exhibition, will end tomorrow, Thursday 27th September 2012, with a Public Open Day for all non-trade visitors eager to visit the show.
Special show features introduced for the first time this year include the INDEX Cinema and Ignite, a PechaKucha style presentation evening. The INDEX Cinema, located in Za'abeel Hall, will screen 19 design and architecture themed films across all four days of the event. Each film has been selected specifically for INDEX by members of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). Ignite is a fast-paced event where each speaker present 20 slides, each shown for only 15 seconds, giving the speaker just 5 minutes to get their message across. Ignite will take place within the INDEX Cinema tonight , Wednesday 26th September, 7pm - 8.30pm.
The Artist's Avenue, located in Hall 3, is an open art gallery featuring creations from the regional contemporary art scene. Among the talents and galleries on display areNeil Corder Photography, Big Art Company, Naqsh Gallery, Mattar Bin Lahej, Abdulhadi Kadasa, 2R Galleries, Mondo Art Gallery, and 97 Art & Ideas.
Walking to Hall 6 visitors can experience the most original pieces and view the latest trends and advancements in lighting at LIGHTING | Visione designed by SVEN|M, a Design Consultancy producing sustainable, bold architecture and design for a local UAE and international client base.
For those that have a passion for fashionas well as design, Les Collections Exclusive fashion show is taking place live in Hall 8, dedicated to the Textiles sector, at 12pm, 3pm and 5pm daily. Models on the runway wear an exclusive couture collection of one-off pieces designed exclusively by award winning Emirati designers DAS collection using interior designers' textile brands.
Tomorrow, Thursday 27th September, the last day of the show, INDEX 2012 will be open to the general public as well as to trade visitors from 11am till 7pm with an admission fee.
