Industry and Commerce Minister opens the first conferences of the faculty law of applied Science University

Industry and Commerce Minister Dr. Hassan Fakhro opens the first conferences of the faculty law of applied Science University, which comes under title of "Consumer Protection in Islamic law".
During the ceremony, the Minister delivered a speech stating "consumer protection occupied a large share of hard work done by the Minister for many decades ago, so the concept become part of its declared strategy. Taking care of consumer on all matters have exceeded the local space.
Dr. Fakhro added that the Kingdom of Bahrain have sought to diversity and maximize its efforts on Gulf and global level in order to enhance protectionism and taking account of consumer's need and provide security, safety, and quality standards in goods and services, as cooperation between the GCC countries which seeks to exchange views and experiences in regard to public policy related to consumer. In addition to conducting specialized studies and joint field research aimed to monitor, document and follow the movement and the impact of goods and services on consumers and prevailing behavioral patterns, in addition to creating effective communications channels between members a to reach common format to determine feasible means through electronic connectivity. Also participate in developing joint awareness program aimed to enhance consumer's culture about consumption styles and to take the necessary measures to combat any unfair trade practices such as collusion and monopoly.
The minister stressed that Ministry's efforts for the past years has culminated recently by issuance Law No. "35" for the past years 2012 in regard to consumer protection, which means regulates all commercial transactions between traders and consumer to be a prominent civil law. The law has address to define consumers rights and duties, in addition to determine duties and functions of Consumer Protection Directorate to ensure supervision of implementing laws and decisions issued in order to facilitate consumer's access to products.
Dr. Fakhro confirmed that the Ministry of Industry and Commerce is very keen to support and adopt various activities and projects that will support and enhance and activate consumer protection concept and cooperate with various parties to raise the level of awareness to create a fertile business environment prevail with justice and equity for all commercial transactions that serve homeland and citizens.
