Innovative shipping and marine technologies to be discussed at ME Shiptech in Dubai on 15-16 October 2012

Major regional ship owners and shipping industry professionals will gather on 15-16 of October in Dubai to discuss the new trends and emerging technologies for the shipping industry at the 5th Annual Middle East Shiptech Conference presented jointly by Vela International Marine, Lloyd's Register and Lloyd's List.
The forum will have international experts from around the globe sharing best practices and exploring over two days, the main challenges encountered by the industry and the solutions developed to overcome them. The key topics will tackle safety, environment and efficiency in all ship and marine operations.
"In one of the most difficult economic situations we have seen in the industry over the past two decades, an event like the 5th Middle East Shiptech Conference represents the ideal opportunity to network with the key stakeholders and share ideas on how to move forward" explains Shahrin Osman, Head of Management Advisory Middle East for Det Norske Veritas.
Critical topics including energy efficiency, new regulations, shipping green design and technology used in counter piracy policies improvement will be addressed by some of the best experts in the region and internationally.
"LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) as an alternative source of power is for example one of the most promising new developments in the shipping industry" commented Mr. Osman, "and I am glad to see that important specialists will speak about the latest technologies at stake in this particular area during the conference."
The 5th Middle East Shiptech Conference will be taking place on 15-16 October at the Address Hotel Dubai Marina in Dubai, UAE.
