IQPC to launch first Oman Mining and Quarrying Summit

IQPC and GEC are hosting the first annual Oman Mining and Quarrying Summit from 26-29 May 2013 at the Golden Tulip Muscat, Oman. The conference will bring together the top mining and quarrying holding companies, exploration companies, government and policy regulators, investment firms, association and advanced mining and quarrying technologies and equipment suppliers to discuss the current challenges faced by the mining and quarrying companies in Oman and also gain an understanding on the new techniques, technologies and products to improve production efficiencies.
The conference is spread over 4 days, which will include 2 days of workshops and 2 full conference days. The conference days will feature regional international experts such as Tariq Barwani, Chief Executive Officer, Mawarid Mining; Ramachandran Ram, Chief Executive Officer, Zawawi Minerals LLC (ZML); Henry Antwi, Head of Mining, Oman Oil; Younis Al Amri, Chief Executive Officer, Gulf Triangle Group; Eugene Iliescu, Managing Director, Gentor Oman; Hany Al Dabbagh, Former VP - Operations, Saudi Mining Company, Ma'aden; Hayat Qidwai, Former Consultant - Mining and Minerals, Ministry of Commerce and Industry; and more.
Tariq Al Barwani, C.E.O. of Mawarid Mining said, "We are looking forward to the Oman Mining and Quarrying Summit. We hope that this will be an effective platform to network with other members of the mining fraternity thereby identifying new mining opportunities which should create significant additional employment opportunities for Omanis. We also hope to exchange ideas and explore new avenues on how to contribute to the communities within which we operate."
The Conference Director, Satish Anand added, "It is largely felt that this summit is not only timely for Oman itself but for the entire region, which is now on the verge of tremendous reform. The agenda addresses all of the strategies necessary for successful reform and development of the mining and quarrying industry in Oman and new advancements in the technologies for projects. We are very pleased with the way the Oman Mining and Quarrying summit has been structured and look forward to a fruitful event".
