Iran bans oil, gas exports to EU

Iran's oil ministry has imposed a ban on all crude oil and gas exports to the European Union, which has already imposed its own boycott on Iranian energy imports as part of sanctions over Tehran's nuclear programme, the Associated Press has reported. The Iranian ban will remain as long as "hostile decisions" are made by the EU, said ministry spokesman Ali Reza Nikzad Rahbar. Before the EU bans in 2012, the 27-nation bloc represented about 18% of Iran's oil sales.
