Iran to cease car exports next March

Iranian Customs Administration director Abbas Memarnejad has said the country will stop car exports in the next Iranian calendar year, which begins on March 21, Tehran Times has reported. Iran exported passenger 44,682 passenger cars during the first nine months of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20-December 20, 2012), valued at about $257m, up 330% in value compared with the same period last year. Iraq was the major importer of Iranian cars, accounting for 98% of total imports.
