Iran to insure oil tankers, wide-body aircraft

Seyed Mahmoud Karimi, director of Central Insurance of the Islamic Republic of Iran has said the country plans to provide all its large passenger planes and oil tankers with their needed insurance services, Fars news has reported. Wide-body passenger plans and oil tankers will have the cover of the local insurance companies, said Karimi. "Each plane will be brought under up to $1.2bn insurance coverage," he added. "We have taken the precautionary measures against possible dangers and damages and insured our oil tankers and we are trying to minimise the economic pressures this way," he said.
