Iran to invest $3.38bn in Abadan refinery upgrade

Iranian deputy oil minister Alireza Zeiqami has announced the signing of a €2.6bn ($3.38bn) deal with a consortium of Iranian and foreign firms to revamp Abadan refinery, located in the Southwest of the country, Fars news has reported. Under the terms of the deal, the consortium is to implement the second phase of the refinery's development plan, which is aimed at increasing daily gasoline output by six million litres to 21 million litres, said Zeiqami.
