Iran plans to drill 12 new exploration wells in Gulf

Mahmoud Zirakchianzadeh, the managing director of the National Iranian Offshore Oil Co (NIOOC) has said the country is set to drill new oil and gas exploration wells in the Arabian Gulf, Fars news has reported. Iran's oil ministry has awarded a €500m contract to a local company to drill 12 exploration wells in the Gulf within the next 36 months, he said.
