Iraq awards LSIS $45.8m deal to build GIS facilities

Iraq has awarded South Korea's LS Industrial Systems (LSIS) a $45.8m order to build two Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) facilities. LSIS will set up two GIS facilities in Baghdad and one each in Mosul, the second-largest city in northern Iraq, and Karbala, southwest of Baghdad. A GIS facility converts and distributes high-voltage power for household and factory use.
