ISESCO to participate in International Conference on Global Education and Knowledge-Based Economies, Dubai

The Islamic Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) will take part in Going Global 2013, which will be held by British Council from 4 to 6 March 2013, in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, under the aegis of H.H. Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research of the UAE, who will open the conference together with Mr David Willets, the British Minister of State for Universities and Science.

The conference is one of the prestigious Going Global conferences organized yearly by British Council, and bringing together education officials from around the world.

Going Global 2013 will be held on the theme of "Global Education: Knowledge-Based Economies for 21st Century Nations", and will see the participation of officials from more than 70 countries, including 12 ministers and former ministers, as well as 263 rectors and 58 vice-rectors of the world's most prestigious universities.

The conference is considered as an opportunity for the educational officials, academics and decision-makers of the educational field from around the world to discuss the challenges facing the field of education, and explore the opportunities to develop research and education systems, which provide the basis for and hone the skills necessary for building knowledge-based economies.

Also, the conference will provide the opportunity for taking stock of the higher education systems in the MENA region, especially the partnership agreements aimed at encouraging educational projects and ensuring quality in the region.

ISESCO will be represented in this conference by Dr Abdulaziz Hamid Al-Jabbouri, expert at ISESCO Regional Office in Sharjah, who will present a paper on ISESCO's efforts in the field of higher education and scientific research.
