Jordan floats Tafileh water networks tenders

The Jordanian government has floated three tenders to replace and rehabilitate water networks in Tafileh governorate, where water loss amounts to over 50%, Jordan Times has reported. The project is part of a national programme designed to rehabilitate water networks across Jordan and upgrade infrastructure in the south. The water networks in Bseirah, Gharandal, Qadeseyeh and Tafileh town in Tafileh governorate are deteriorating and will be replaced and rehabilitated to improve water supply, said the water ministry secretary-general and acting secretary general of the Water Authority of Jordan, Basem Tulfah. "The rehabilitation and replacement of the water networks will cost JD1.1m and will be funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA)," Tulfah said.
