  • Jordan: Wednesday, June 13 - 2012 at 11:29

The Iraqi cabinet has approved an agreement to build a long-awaited pipeline to carry heavy oil and natural gas to the port of Aqaba, Jordan Times has reported. Under the agreement, a portion of the natural gas to be transported via the pipeline will be supplied to Jordan at a price to be set by the two governments at a later stage. Iraq will also supply the kingdom with heavy oil, a measure that will depend on feasibility studies regarding the ability of the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Co to process Iraqi crude.
