Jordanian environment ministry is considering the introduction of electric cars and buses to the public sector fleet to reduce emissions and cut down on fuel costs, Jordan Times has reported. The proposed vehicles operate fully on electricity and produce no carbon dioxide emissions, ministry spokesperson, Isa Shboul told the daily. "It is not clear yet when electric cars will be used in the public sector but the ministry welcomes the idea because it protects the environment and reduces air pollution and fuel consumption at the same time," Shboul said.
