Jordan reports second swine flu fatality

Jordan's health ministry has said a 40-year-old woman has become the second H1N1 (swine) flu-related fatality in the kingdom this year, Jordan Times has reported. This year's first H1N1-related death in Jordan was registered last week in a 26-year-old man from Irbid. The H1N1 virus first emerged in Jordan in June 2009 with 3,049 cases and 16 related fatalities registered in the country that year. It re-emerged in December 2010, causing 289 illnesses and 17 related deaths.
