Jordan Insurance Federation (JIF) has said the sector's losses in 2012 is expected to reach around JD20m, most of which in the compulsory motor insurance, Jordan Times has reported. JIF president Othman Budair said that some 10,000 insurance claims are still unpaid, because insurance companies are not capable of paying these dues. The financial results of insurance companies for the past year show that the sector incurred large losses as a result of several problems facing it, foremost of which are the financial burdens resulting from compulsory insurance, said Budair.
