Jordan's 2013 draft budget set at $10.5bn

The Jordanian cabinet has approved the 2013 budget draft law, set at around JD7.456bn ($10.5bn) , Jordan Times has reported. Of the total budget figure, JD6.210bn is allocated for current expenses while the remaining JD1.246bn is allocated for capital expenses, said the finance minister, Suleiman Hafez. Under the proposed budget, public revenues are expected to reach around JD6.146bn, of which foreign grants represent JD850m, Hafez said. This means the budget deficit is set to reach some JD1.31bn, or 5.4% of the gross domestic product (GDP), he said.
