Katara appoints new General Manager

Katara, the Cultural Village today announced the appointment of Dr. Khalid Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti as the General Manager of Katara. Al-Sulaiti's extensive experience across several sectors in leading institutions will play a major role in achieving Katara's vision to educate and entertain whilst building cultural bridges.
President of Katara, Abdulrahman Al-Khulaifi commented on the appointment, "Dr. Khalid Ibrahim Al-Sulaiti's appointment comes in line with our efforts to attract high calibre of individuals to lead Katara into the international sphere which will add value to our work at Katara as we continue to grow and diversify. His in-depth knowledge of business and his profound experience makes him a suitable member of the team, key to Katara's efforts in achieving its objectives through endorsing and promoting cultural, artistic and intellectual programmes."
Over the course of his career, Al-Sulaiti has been actively engaged in research as the Member of the Council of Trustees of the Centre for economic research, the Executive Editor of the Scientific Administrative Development Qatari Journal and the Chairman of the Permanent Scientific Committee of the Institute of Administrative Development. He was also named one of 500 strongest personalities in the Middle East by Arabian Business in 2011.
Expressing his commitment to Katara, Al-Sulaiti said, "I am proud to be part of Katara, the Cultural Village. Katara has become a fine example working towards Qatar's 2030 National Vision and I am keen to further build upon the creativity and excellence which Katara has already achieved."
He holds a PhD in Marketing from the University of Strathclyde University, Scotland and a BA in International Business and MBA Concentrating in Finance from the University of Bridgeport, USA.
