  • PRESS RELEASE

KCP Capital, a Dubai based merchant bank investing and managing assets in high-growth industries announced a distribution agreement with US based Platinum Partners to attract investment funds from emerging markets of the Middle East, Russia, CIS, India and Czech Republic.

The investments channeled through both companies will be restricted to High Net Worth and institutional investors with a minimum investment of $1m. Platinum Partners is a New York based investment management group with more than $1bn in assets under management.

The funds would be utilised for two market specific funds -the Value Arbitrage Fund LP and Credit Opportunities Master Fund LP- managed by Platinum Partners. The Value Arbitrage Fund LP is a multi-strategy fund designed to achieve superior risk-adjusted returns (Average Annualized Return of 20. 13 %) by deploying assets across various strategies, including long/short equity, energy arbitrage, convertible arbitrage, and asset based convertible debt.

The Credit Opportunities Master Fund LP (Average Annualized Return of 11. 11 %) is designed to achieve superior risk-adjusted returns by providing asset based loans in markets that are underserved by traditional sources of financing such as consumer finance, mining, healthcare, litigation, secure trade finance and real estate.

"With our cross-border and cross-cultural expertise to maximize returns, KCP Capital is in a unique position to bring global investment opportunities to match the needs of our investors," said Kamal Tayara, Managing Partner, KCP Capital.

"This partnership with Platinum Partners comes after a long research and due diligence process and is part of our long-term approach to expand our geographical footprint to give investors across emerging markets access to the best of breed in Western fund management. We are also committed to investing our own capital in Platinum funds. "

According to Mark Nordlicht, Chairman and CIO, Platinum Partners, "We are very pleased to be opening up a significant investment opportunity for sophisticated emerging market investors seeking to achieve market neutral returns. We are delighted to be working with KCP Capital and are grateful for the opportunity to leverage their successful track record of investing and managing assets across our target markets.
