The Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation welcomes delegation from Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department in Dubai

The Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation welcomed a delegation from the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department at the Al Habtoor Group head office in Dubai on Monday 4th March.

They discussed ways of mutual cooperation in order to promote charitable work and coordination between the private and public sector and other bodies to benefit the entire community.

The meeting was attended by Mohammad Abdallah Al Haj and Juma Khalifa Bin Thaleth, members of the Board of Trustees of the Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation; Abdul Salam Al Marzooqi, General Secretary and Director of the Foundation and May Al Bouflasa, Charity Affairs Officer, Foundation Operations. The delegation from the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department included Juma Obaid Al Falasi, Assistant Director General of Charitable Services Affairs; Ali Al Mansoori, Director of the Charitable Societies Development Projects and Ahmad Said Mohammad, Director of the Department of Accreditation and Follow-up of Charitable Foundations.

Both parties discussed ways of cooperation to implement the program of electronic linkage between charitable associations in Dubai. Mr. Al Falasi stressed that this linkage is in line with Dubai e-government system to facilitate the registration procedures of data and the solution of procedural and technical problems. It would also allow the registration of information about each association, the possibility to access subscribers' data, the registration and documentation of the decisions of the charitable work sector in the Islamic Affairs Department, the registration of the data of scientific and social forums organized by charitable associations and their investment projects, and the documentation of their involvement at the local and international levels.

Mr. Al Marzooqi. General Secretary & Director of the Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor Foundation said, "We are honored and pleased to set the foundations of a mutual cooperation with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, in their capacity as strategic partners in the development of charitable work in a legal framework that supports charities."

The delegation gave a detailed presentation about raising religious awareness and developing charitable work in the community, and highlighted the achievements of charities.

At the end of the meeting, both parties emphasized the need to promote communication between them and establish a partnership that would contribute to the development of charitable work and community service.
