Khalaf Al Habtoor receives Al Jalila Foundation's Trustees

Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor, Chairman of Al Habtoor Group, has received members of the Board of Trustees from The Al Jalila Foundation for Medical Education and research to discuss the action of the Foundation and discuss ways to raise community awareness about the institution.

The meeting, held on January 13, 2013 at the Group's head office on Al Wasl Road, Dubai, was attended by Dr. Abdul Kreem Sultan Aloma, CEO of Al Jalila Foundation, Raja Issa Al Garg, Chairman of the Foundation, Marwan Abedin, Chief Executive offcer and member of the Board of Director of Dubai Healthcare City, Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashimi, Managing Director of Dubai Healthcare City (DHCC) and Nart Mamser, representative of the office of HRH Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein.

Attendees from the Al Habtoor Group were Noura Badawi, Director of Media and Communications, Abdul Salam Al Marzooqi, Directore of Community Relations and May Al Bouflasa, Community relations Officer.

Khalaf Al Habtoor stressed the need for the Foundation to develop a sustainable plan to help serve the community. The group discussed agenda items raised at the Board of Trustees' last meeting, which was headed by HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of the Department of Civil Aviation, CEO and Chairman of the Emirates Group.

Mr. Habtoor suggested that the Board of Trustees prepare a plan of action and set priorities to be shown to potential donors.

The Al Jalila Foundation for Medical Education and Research was established in November 2012 by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai to support medical education and research in the emirate. It is a non-profitable entity headquartered in the Dubai Healthcare City.

The foundation will focus on improving healthcare services by encouraging academic and scientific research in various medical specialisations. It aims to ensure the UAE's leadership in medical sciences through funding scholarships and medical research in the UAE and abroad.
