Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB), an Islamic bank headquartered in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has announced its sponsorship of the construction of a new building in Muharraq to provide care for parents and elderly.
The announcement about building KHCB's Parents Care Home was made at the Bank's head office at Bahrain Financial Harbour in the presence of the Honorary President of Muharraq Parents Care Home, His Excellency Khalifa Bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani, Chairman of the House of Representatives, and Dr. Fuad Abdulla Al Omar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KHCB, in addition to members of the Bank's Executive Management and members from the Good Word Society supervising the project.
On this occasion, His Excellency Khalifa Bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani said, "We would like to extend our deep thanks and appreciation to KHCB for their sponsorship of this important charitable project, which will carry the Bank's name and will be supervised by the Good Word Society. Needless to say, the project is considered one of the most important voluntary work, charitable Waqf (endowment) and on-gong charitable deeds in our beloved Kingdom. KHCB Parents Care Home will be in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain's strategy which focuses on the development of the elderly care services through the National Committee formed by His Majesty King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, the King of Bahrain, and which has been charged by the Kingdom's judicious government with the task of drawing up a strategy and executive plans to develop the services provided to the elderly in the Kingdom of Bahrain to be on par with international services in this field. We will work in conjunction with the Bank to make the Parents Care Home a unique model for charitable and social work in the Kingdom of Bahrain through the services which will be provided by it, God willing."
Expressing pleasure and satisfaction over the Bank's sponsorship of the Parents Care Home, Dr. Fuad Al Omar, Chairman of the Board of Directors of KHCB, said, "We are happy for sponsoring the construction of this unique charitable project in the Kingdom of Bahrain, which will be located in the area of Busaiteen and will cater to the people of Muharraq Governorate. This initiative reflects the attention paid by the shareholders to make the Bank play an active role in charitable and social work in our beloved Kingdom. The project also comes as part of the corporate social responsibility strategy adopted by the Bank's Board of Directors which aims at contributing in an active way to the social and charitable projects adopted by civic society organizations in the Kingdom. We will make KHCB Parents Care Home a manifestation of loyalty and recognition of parents' and the elderly's favour by providing them with social, health and psychological care and spreading positive social concepts which focus on their contribution to social and development activities through the projects and programmes sponsored by the Parents Care Home."
KHCB has chosen the Good Word Society to manage the project considering that the society was behind the main idea of the Care Home, and given its vast experience and good reputation in charitable and voluntary work in Bahrain's community. The Bank will co-ordinate with the Society in choosing a professional and highly efficient team to manage the project and supervise the programmes and activities to be provided by it, including psychological counseling and health services to the Home's dwellers.
