Khaleeji Commercial Bank (KHCB), a prominent Bahrain-based Islamic retail bank, continued to support the youth of the country by providing short term training opportunities for students. Recently, KHCB organized a one week internship training programme for four of inJAZ 'Company' programme students from Shaikha Hessa Girls School during their mid-term break.
Commenting on the training programme, Mr. Silvan Varghese, Acting CEO of Khaleeji Commercial Bank said, "The Bank is very pleased to receive Bahraini students and offer them an intensive on-the-job training programme in its various departments. Throughout their internship training programme, the students gained practical experience that complemented their theoretical knowledge acquired in the 'Company programme' delivered by InJAZ volunteers."
During the internship, the students attended a one day orientation workshop organized by the Human Resources department in coordination with other departments. The training included topics such as Islamic Banking, Operations, Retail Banking, Treasury and Human Resources. The students later were assigned to different departments in the Bank based on the role they played in the 'Company' programme.
In addition, the Bank also accommodated twelve students from Hamad Town Boys secondary school in a one day field visit as part of In JAZ programme titled the 'Job Shadow'. The students attended a series of activities organized by the Bank to familiarize them with the work environment and the various functions at the Bank.
