Khalifa University participates in World Future Energy Summit

Khalifa University announced today that it will participate in the World Future Energy Summit (WFES) taking place at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from January 15th to the 17th.

It is being held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and Khalifa University's Board of Trustees Chairman.

Khalifa University students will have the opportunity to network with international energy leaders and demonstrate some of their engineering projects to visitors from around the world.

The event is dedicated to advancing future energy, energy efficiency and clean technologies.

The attending students are currently majoring in several different engineering specializations, including Electrical and Electronic Engineering with a concentration in Power Systems. Graduates in this discipline usually work in industries such as semiconductor, telecommunications, satellites, media, power utilities, petroleum, gas and the police and army, the power utilities and nuclear industries and this Summit is considered a good opportunity to meet professionals in these industries.

"This is an excellent opportunity for our students to network with world leaders in sustainable energy solutions," said Dr. Arif Al Hammadi, Executive Vice President of Khalifa University.

"Our student's represent the future of the UAE, and it's important for them to learn as much as they can about the challenges facing the energy industry and about the efforts being made to find sustainable solutions, because this will be the future for the UAE as well. Abu Dhabi's 2030 Vision talks about the importance of finding sustainable energy sources, and we at Khalifa University, are dedicated to helping Abu Dhabi achieve its goals."
