Kingdom Of Bahrain to host 2013 AIPN Oil and Gas conference

Delegates from the Bahrain Chamber for Dispute Resolution (BCDR-AAA) attended the annual Association of International Petroleum Negotiators (AIPN) Dispute Resolution in the International Oil and Gas Business conference which was held in New Delhi last week.

In November 2013, the AIPN conference will be sponsored by the BCDR-AAA and will be held in Manama where more than 200 leading professionals will gather to discuss the issues affecting the oil and gas industry.

The BCDR-AAA's CEO James McPherson, said, "This year's conference focused on current and emerging issues in oil and gas disputes in the Middle East and Asia and best practices in negotiating and drafting effective dispute resolution clauses in oil and gas agreements."

Ali Al Aradi, Chief Registrar and Assistant CEO for Mediation, said, "The BCDR-AAA's participation in this conference aimed to introduce the Chamber's alternative solutions to resolving disputes to those companies which have commercial relations with GCC based entities."

The AIPN is the leading professional organisation of commercial negotiators and energy lawyers in the international petroleum industry. The AIPN develops petroleum model contracts that are widely used throughout the industry, and provides educational seminars and conferences around the world.

The BCDR-AAA is a one-stop-shop for alternative dispute resolution and is a major pillar to Bahrain's status as a world-class business and investment environment. Since its launch on January 2010, the Chamber has looked in to 66 cases with a value of over $1.7bn.
