  • PRESS RELEASE

KPMG has been named 'Best Islamic Assurance and Advisory Services Provider' in the 2012 Euromoney Islamic finance awards.

This marks the sixth consecutive year KPMG has taken the top prize, which is unequalled in the assurance and advisory category.

Now in their eleventh year, the awards are widely regarded as the benchmark awards for the global Islamic finance industry. Euromoney again highlighted KPMG's active role in promoting and supporting the development of the Islamic finance industry around the world especially in new markets.

Jeremy Anderson, global head of KPMG's Financial Services practice, commented: "I am absolutely delighted KPMG has received this award for a sixth year in a row. Global market conditions remain immensely challenging and the fact that our firms have been able to work so closely with our clients and regulators around the world is testament to the quality and breadth of our Islamic finance service offering."

Samer Hijazi, Director in KPMG's Financial Services practice, added: "KPMG firms have been heavily engaged by our clients across a number of complex areas such as the myriad of evolving regulation, taxation and demonstrating Sharia'a compliance. The global financial services industry is entering a new era which will present unique challenges and opportunities to Islamic financial institutions. We believe KPMG firms have the right experience and expertise to help them respond to these challenges and opportunities."

KPMG member firms now have a well established global Islamic finance and investment group, with a network of professionals in 37 countries.
