Leaders in trade and customer service, Khimji Ramdas have developed a programme to train talented Omanis and make them employable in today's competitive job market.
Participants in the programme recently got a chance to put their lessons taken by the Pizza Hut Training Centre into practice in the recent Pizza Hut Champs Challenge for the MENAPAKT (Middle East North Africa Pakistan & Turkey) region that was held in Ain Soukhna in Egypt.
The Pizza Hut team from Oman was led by the coach Salim Al Balushi and comprised of 50% Omanis to win the silver medal.
The following staff made up the Omani Pizza Hut team: Salem Al Balushi - Coach; Santosh Valliyil - Manager; Sibi Viswanathan - Service Staff; Muneer Al Hosni- Service Staff; Jithin Bhadran-Kitchen Staff; Abeer Mubarak Al Siyabi - Kitchen Staff.
For those new to the concept, the Champs Challenge is like the Olympics of Pizza Hut, where Champs stands for Cleanliness, Hospitality, Accuracy, Maintenance, Product and Speed. Months of rigorous training and practice precede the event before four best teams from various qualifying rounds are selected to compete at the national level. The two winning teams then face off at the finals.
The participation of the Omani Pizza Hut team in Champs Challenge has been going on for many years, and what's interesting is that the experience they gain is extensive, especially that it's the same team who's servicing the people of Oman on daily basis whenever they visit or call Pizza Hut.
