Kuwait Int'l Airport records 6% in air traffic

Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation has announced air traffic at Kuwait International Airport grew 6% year-on-year in 2012, Kuna has reported. The number of passengers going through the airport also jumped 5% last year to 8.9 million compared to 8.5 million in 2011, "at a time when the air travel industry worldwide had experienced rough going due in the main to the global economic slump, particularly in Europe, and political turmoil in different regions of the Middle East," said deputy director Nabil al-Zamel.
