Kuwait Yacht Show cruises into Marina Crescent on Jan 29th

The first edition of Kuwait Yacht Show cruises in to Marina Crescent from 29th to 31st January, and offers visitors a chance to explore the finest elements of the boating lifestyle, to view the industry's newest brands and models, and to shop for boats and marine accessories.

The on-land showcase features boats, marine accessories and high-end products, whilst the on-water display features luxury yachts.

The Kuwait Yacht Show is certain to attract the crowds by providing something for all boating, fishing, watersport, diving and travel enthusiasts, in doing so it, will place Kuwait on the international marine-sector map for yacht shows.

Speaking prior to the opening PH7 Managing Director, Zeina Mokaddam, said "Such has been the growth in the marine leisure sector over recent years that facilities in Kuwait now rival those of our regional neighbours. No longer is it necessary for locally-based yacht owners to look beyond our own shores for the finest in marine sales and support. We have good support locally for the event, including from our sponsors Burgan Bank and Wataniya Telecom."

Kuwait has one of the largest leisure boating markets in the Middle East with, according to government registration figures, more than 15,000 leisure boats of all sizes.

There are currently five marinas in Kuwait, yet such is the growth in the sector there is currently a shortage of berths for larger boats and yachts. As a planned response to this an additional large marine development is due to open next year which will alleviate the berthing situation, making the promotion of larger yachts in Kuwait timely.

Talking about the company's decision to sponsor the upcoming Kuwait Yacht Show, Public Relations Manager at Wataniya Telecom Fatima Dashti emphasised the company's commitment to support and encourage any effort that celebrates the high status of Kuwait today and in particular this one which also reflects Kuwait's proud heritage.

"Wataniya will be showcasing latest services and products on its booth at the exhibition. As part of the on-land showcase Wataniya will be hosting a VIP lounge where a team of service professionals will welcome customers and respond to their queries."

Moreover, Bashir Jaber, Burgan Bank's Assistant General Manager - Corporate Communications said: "Kuwait has probably the most vibrant maritime market in the Arab World. Kuwaitis are dedicated to experiencing many sea-related adventures and with new products meeting their needs, the industry in Kuwait has grown to a new level. With the current rapid development of the marine industry across the country, the expectation is for more power boats, large and small, to make their home in this land where sand and sea are inextricably linked."

The Kuwait Yacht Show will witness the gathering of an elite group, with participants including leading figures in the Kuwait marine industry. Amongst them are: Thunayan Al-Ghanim from Al-Ghanim Marine, dealers of Bombardier Recreational Products; Ahmad Al-Amiri from Seas & Deserts, dealers of Azimut, Sea Ray, Boston Whaler, and other marine brands; Adel Al-Summait from Al-Boom Marine, dealers of Gulf Craft and many other marine brands; Eduard Assaf from Sea Pro, dealers of Ferretti, Riva, Regal, Bertram; Mohamad Karam from Karam Group, dealers of Suzuki Marine; Omar Al-Kadi from Power House Company, dealers of Robalo Boats; Fahed Al Gharib from Power Boat Centre, dealers of Benelli Jet Skis, Haloul Boats, Charn Boats, Majed Al Sabeih from Al Sabih Marine dealers of Hella Marine, Ocean Kayaks, Cressi, Baltic, Magna Power, Marine AGM Batteries and Maxwell.
