The Kuwaiti cabinet is expected to issue in the next few days an emergency decree on the privatisation of Kuwait Airways Corp (KAC), Al-Anba Arabic daily has reported, citing unnamed sources. The decree will include stipulations on the need to protect the rights of the KAC employees, while the engineers and pilots who have been in service for more than 20 years will be given the option to either stay in the job or to retire. According to the expected decree, new investors will be obliged to pay within five years the same salaries granted to the airline's employees prior to the privatisation, the report said.
