- PRESS RELEASE
The ribbon was cut for La Fattoria della Pizza, the new area in Kargeen Caffè designed for the lovers of 'margherita'. A professional chef - coming from Napoli of course - will prepare a typically delicious Italian dish just in front of you, using the same ingredients available back in Italy and the same cooking procedure.
"Our 'fattoria della pizza' is unique in its concept," said Jalil Al Asfoor, owner of Kargeen Caffè.
"We have been working for almost one year, taking care of every single detail," he underlined, "In order to recreate a place where customers can really experience the same feeling of enjoying an Italian pizza. We want to offer more than high quality food, we aim to show what it is considered as a proper tradition," he added.
To discover all the secrets of the art of pizza, Kargeen worked side by side with Tricolore International LLC, the first Omani company managed by an Italian team that specializes in offering turnkey projects with a focus on the authentic Made in Italy lifestyle.
"We have carefully selected all the best ingredients and products used by the most popular pizzerias," said Caterina Carannante, General Manager of Tricolore. "Offering to Kargeen a real slice of Italy. The flour, the yeast, the tomato sauce, the mozzarella, the extra virgin olive oil, the vegetables, even the traditional oven, the wood for it and the serving dishes have been imported directly from Italy," sh added.
And to combine the finest ingredients to perfection, Tricolore International also helped Kargeen to scout for the chef, or better the 'pizzaiolo'. Jalil Al Asfoor, himself, with the Operations Manager, Marwan Khraiche, flew to Italy last October, interviewing and testing more than 15 professionals in 3 days.
"We went where the pizza came into life to discover all of secrets to reproduce the original taste and the right atmosphere," said Mr Khraiche who had a long term experience in restaurant management in Italy.
"We drove them into the heart of Napoli," said Carlo D'Andrea, who is responsible for Tricolore International in Italy. "In order to identify the candidates most suitable to travel to the Sultanate and conquer the tastes of Omanis," he added.
Whilst pizza is ready and available in Kargeen, lovers of Italian food could also be happy to know that, within one month, they could taste new Italian flavours directly at their home table.
"We are supplying to The Sultan Center three new Italian brands: Colavita, Mutti and Basso," said Caterina. "Bringing a wide choice of pasta, tomato products and extra virgin olive oil to the hypermarket shelves," she added.
