2013 marks the 80th anniversary of Lacoste, the iconic French lifestyle brand. For the past 80 years, Lacoste has built its identity and reputation upon a number of core values inherited from a past history sprinkled with sports achievements and reinforced by the ideas of happiness and 'art de vivre'.
The reason why it has not aged a bit in 80 years is that the brand, though taking pride in its heritage, continues to incorporate its DNA in everything it endeavors.
Most notably, Tennis- taking after its founder René Lacoste, the brand continues to revolutionize the way this sport is played.
That's why it comes to no surprise that the iconic brand is a sponsor of the Dubai Duty Free Tennis Championships for the sixth year! Lacoste is the official outfitter of the tournament on court populations (linesmen and women, ballkids).
Tennis is an embedded part of the brand's rich heritage. Lacoste also employs a socially responsible role through the sponsorship of the Tennis Clinic for children with special needs. Children from various schools are given the unique opportunity to spend a day training with respected coach Clark Francis and his team.
Today, Lacoste counts more than 121 tennis champions (among them 20 are in the top 100) from almost 10 different nationalities who share with the brand and its founder René Lacoste the essential values of tenacity, performance, and elegance.
Lacoste has also boasts an impressive network of ambassadors, including Gustavo Kuerten, Mats Wilander and Guy Forget champions embodying perfectly the Crocodile brand's values of authenticity, elegance, empathy, joie de vivre.
