Dr Pignato first listened to a presentation outlining the vision and mission of Qatar Foundation.
She was also introduced to the many educational initiatives, community development plans and scientific research programmes undertaken by the Foundation.
The First Lady was then briefed on Qatar Foundation's numerous sustainability projects and climate action solutions.
"Qatar Foundation today is a prime example of modernity and excellence in the region and is leading the Middle East towards a better and brighter future," explained Dr Pignato.
"I salute Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, for all of the revolutionary projects underway on campus, as they provide a source of pride for everyone around the world," she added.
After the presentation, the First Lady and her delegation were shown an impressive 3D scale model of the current buildings and future construction projects at Qatar Foundation. As the visit came to a close, Dr Pignato signed the Qatar Foundation visitor's book and was presented with a collection of Qur'anic manuscripts.
Dr Pignato is in Doha on an official visit that aims at enhancing bilateral relations between El Salvador and Qatar.
