Lebanon launches 'First Job' to tackle graduate unemployment

The Lebanese government has launched a programme aimed at tackling unemployment among fresh university graduates, The Daily Star has reported. The "First Job" initiative, which will be managed in partnership with the National Employment Office, the World Bank and the labour ministry, presents incentives for companies to hire first-time job applicants. The five-year, $6.6m programme will also provide training for job seekers.
