The national airline is Middle East Airlines (MEA) (www.mea.com.lb). British Midland (www.flybmi.com) operates flights from London Heathrow to Beirut. The peak summer months and Christmas generally tend to be the most expensive times to fly.

Main ports: Beirut (www.portdebeyrouth.com), Chekka, Jounieh, Tripoli, Sidon and Tyre.
Cruise Ships
Several cruise lines connect Beirut, Jounieh and Tripoli with the rest of the world. The sea connection between the Cypriot port of Larnaca and Jounieh in Lebanon may be closed and travellers considering that route are advised to check with the Ministry of Tourism or the embassy.
