Lebanon's pharmaceuticals market grows 6.4% in 2012

According to a report by Business Monitor International (BMI), the size of Lebanon's pharmaceuticals market is estimated at $1.28bn in 2012, up 6.4% from $1.2bn last year, The Daily Star has reported. The country's market size is forecast to reach $1.73bn in 2016 and to grow at a compound annual rate (CAGR) of 7.6% during the 2011-16 period, the report said. BMI estimated per-capita spending on pharmaceutical products at $297.5 in 2012 in comparison to $281.7 in 2011, and this is expected to increase to $402.4 in 2016 and to post a CAGR of 7.4% during the same period.
