The World Bank has said Lebanon is set to witness a steady inflow of remittances this year, despite recent instability in the region, The Daily Star has reported. Inflows of remittances will post a slight decline of 0.4% to stand at $7.578bn in 2012, compared with $7.612bn in 2011. Remittances in 2011 were almost equal to those of 2010, reporting also a mere decline of 0.1% from $7.619bn.
