Lenovo ends HP's reign as top PC maker

Lenovo Group has ended HP's six-year reign as the world's top PC maker, highlighting the challenges facing CEO Meg Whitman as she strives to revive growth at the 73-year-old US technology company, Bloomberg has reported. Lenovo accounted for 15.7% of shipments last quarter, compared with 15.5% for HP, according to market research firm Gartner Inc. Global PC shipments fell 8.3% from a year earlier to $87.5m last quarter, according to Gartner.
