- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Customs has upgraded its e-clearance system to receive declarations of air shipments issued by the Emirates SkyCargo, the cargo arm of Emirates Airline, through B2G channel, which facilitates direct contact with Dubai Customs' Mirsal 2 for companies carrying out a sizeable amount of customs transactions.
He explained that the B2G channel for receiving declarations of air shipments issued by the Emirates SkyCargo, will help Dubai Customs to ensure the conformity of shipments to information listed in the shipping agencies' declarations on one side, and customers' statements of the goods in these shipments on the other. This will have tremendous advantages to all parties; customers, airlines, shipping agencies, airport operators and Dubai Customs, as it steps up its performance efficiency.
Linking Dubai Customs and Emirates SkyCargo through B2G channel has vital advantages to customers, most importantly the completion of shipments conformity as fast as possible, which leads to fast goods clearance, something that air fright users usually look for.
The new upgrade in the e-clearance program facilitates detection of any differences between the goods and information listed in the customs declaration electronically. It also enables airlines, shipping agencies and airport operators to simplify and facilitate re-shipment of transit goods through direct conformity of cargo.
Al Ghaith said that Dubai Customs enjoys numerous benefits resulting from this link, as it reinforces efforts for complete implementation of the requirements of the Common Customs Law of the GCC States and also allows better control and follow up of the trade supply chain movement, as risks will be determined through electronic conformity of information. Most importantly, revenues will be controlled and fully protected against tax evasion possibilities, through guarantying goods conformity to shipment declaration, customers statement and shipping agency report.
In addition, acceleration of information exchange will lead to increasing revenue from customs duties refunds of unreceived shipments, which the system accurately locates and makes them undergo the followed procedures to collect their value.
Moreover, it ensures review of transit goods which are re-shipped from Dubai to guarantee that the duties refunded to customers are equivalent to their dues.
