- PRESS RELEASE
The Lord's Taverners are bringing their legendary cricket team to Dubai for the 13th consecutive year. Made up of current and ex international cricketers the team will take on the Emirates XI for a two day competition at 7he Sevens.
Joining the cricket legends will be British TV icon Chris Tarrant, showing his talents off the field as the effervescent host of this year's Gala Dinner, taking place on 1st March at the newly launched Fairmont The Palm.
"As one of the leading charities that brings sports and fair play to disadvantaged and disabled young people, this event is a perfect fit with Fairmont's ethos of supporting the communities in which we live and work," said Martin van Kan, General Manager.
Adding, "Our newly debuted hotel, combined with the prestige of our location on the iconic Palm Jumeirah is the perfect backdrop to raise awareness and funds for this worthwhile cause."
Guests can expect cricket banter from the team of legends including former England captain Mike Gatting, Phil Simmons, Vikram Solanki and Scott Styris, as well as comedy from the legendary Bob 'The Cat' Bevan; the only person in Britain to receive an MBE for after-dinner speaking!
A sumptuous three course dinner will be followed by live entertainment from our host and stars and then dancing into the early hours.
