Low-risk pregnancy cases to receive treatment at PHCs

  • United Arab Emirates: Wednesday, October 24 - 2012 at 02:10

The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) has rolled out a programme allowing women with low-risk pregnancy to receive treatment at the emirate's primary healthcare centres, Khaleej Times has reported. The DHA launched the second phase of the 'shared maternity care information' programme, which aims to reduce the load on hospitals. "The benefit of this system is that patients who need advanced care have access to it immediately and that hospitals will primarily cater to high-risk patients, whereas primary healthcare physicians specialised in gynaecology will cater to low-risk patients," said Khalid Al Sheikh Mubarak, deputy director general of the authority.
